J.E.S.S.I.C.A. Cares Youth Committee

Where Teen Voices Become Leadership, Vision, and Lasting Impact

The J.E.S.S.I.C.A. Cares Youth Committee is a transformational leadership opportunity created to give teen girls a true seat at the table — a place where their voices shape the programs, decisions, and experiences that impact their lives and the lives of girls across our community. Meeting quarterly with our Executive Director, committee members engage in real conversations about the issues today’s girls are navigating: academic pressures, social media influence, self-esteem challenges, emotional wellness, and the ever-changing landscape of growing up in today’s world.

Their insight is our compass, keeping us connected to the heartbeat of this generation.

Committee members play an active role in designing and enhancing J.E.S.S.I.C.A. Cares programming, including:

  • Recommending themes and activities for the Annual Empowerment Retreat.
  • Planning special events, field trips, and community experiences.
  • Serving as teen facilitators and volunteers during retreats and workshops.
  • Developing ideas for new programs and strengthening existing ones.

This is far more than a committee —

It is a leadership launchpad, where girls learn to influence, collaborate, and lead with confidence.

To join, girls must submit an application, provide a letter of reference, and interview with current committee members and the Executive Director. Once selected, each young leader completes a 10-week leadership course to prepare for her role, ensuring she steps into the committee with purpose, clarity, and confidence.

The Youth Committee is where young women discover their voices, strengthen their leadership, and learn that they have the power to create meaningful change — within themselves, within their community, and far beyond.
